I couldn’t understand some parts of this article New Pownce jumps ahead of Twitter!, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

It would be nice if they made the themes customizable. Other than that I really like pownce. It's like a twitter and a tumblr rolled into one. I'm having trouble getting my friends to use it, though.

I think you're right on the money: pownce has definitely moved ahead of both twitter _and_ jaiku with these latest enhancements. When SMS updates are added, I think it will cement itself as my #1 client.

I think Pownce suffers from being the middle child between Twitter and MySpace. I like Twitter for its brevity and lack of clutter. I use MySpace when I want to really know what's new with my friends (photos, videos, e-mail). Pownce does serve either function well -- it's like all the clutter of MySpace with only a little more functionality than Twitter (and minus the ease of using it over SMS).

I'm sticking it out with Pownce, but the new changes haven't really made it useful for me yet. I only really use it once a week or so and only when I want to share a video or file with friends (which I could more easily do on my own blog). It doesn't feel very social to me yet.

Personally i think Pownce is evolving "the right way", even if i'm still using more twitter. Both miss something to alert on private stuff- Tweetr2 (AIR version of twitter) developer promised to implement a glowing icons system on the next release. Events and links to other social networks give "a plus" to Pownce which help you to know a little about your friends :-) Embedding of videos and pictures is a nice feature, but it was not something essential for me.

+1 on Neha's suggestions, but i'm waiting for the release of the Pownce API to create an AIR app. that will be able to "follow and post" on both Twitter and Pownce.

Yup, I'm lovin' the new features too! Hope you're having a good long weekend and I hope you're out of your emo mood!

I had no idea any of this was going on with Pownce. Like everyone, I clamored for an invite, then tried to find reasons to use it. I still haven't really latched on, but I didn't like Twitter for the longest time either, and now you can't shut me up there. (by the way, Neha, I'm akelatal on Twitter, and following you. That's how I found this entry. I'd love for you to add me back!)

I'll give Pownce another try. Let's see if it sticks for a change.
