First tweets with My Tweet 16
Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 10:43AM We always tend to remember our first's--whether it's your first kiss, first love, first job-- it sticks. Some things are a little harder to remember, like perhaps your first Twitter post. With nearly 5,000 updates on Twitter, I've always thought it would be very interesting to see where it all started. I've found what I'm looking for with the sweetly named, MyTweet16.com.
The service is simple and straight to the point. In the blank white field, enter your [or someone else's] Twitter handle and viola, the first 16 tweets appear. Another site which claims to provide a similar service is Myfirsttweet.com. For new users of Twitter, or those with less updates, this service may work fine. For me,there was an error message as I have more that 3,200 updates total. I also tried other Twitterers and got various other errors like "Rate Limit Exceeded." My First Tweet is a tad wonky, while My Tweet 16 runs more smoothly.
The interesting part is experiencing your first tweets again, which instantly transports you down memory lane. My first tweet was pretty generic, but the 15 that followed took me to a time and place of my life. I was still working at CNET, and it was when CNET Live had just debuted. I also still loved cupcakes [the subject of my second tweet]; some things never change! Nevertheless, I was overcome with nostalgia when I was reading my first tweets in 2007 on My Tweet 16. Plus, I now know that my Twitterversary is April 9th, which means I can finally throw that "Happy Twitterversary @Nehalia" party!
My Tweet 16 is a neat idea and I would like to see how they move forward. It would be great if they would expand on the idea and have a way to find your tweets by date, or index old tweets in another way. Adding these functions may ruin the "16" shtick, but it is a much needed tool in the Twitterverse. I'll be following them to see what's new and watch them evolve. Happy Tweet Sixteening folks!

That is so cool! lol! Now I want to go back to my blog and see where exactly I was at that time. :)
Thanks for the link. And as always, it's great reading you.
My first tweets were mostly about college and the weekend. Its a little over a year since I joined twitter and not much has changed as far as tweets go.
great read, and welcome back!
It only works if you have less than 6400 tweets
